Mushrooms:
What’s the big deal?

Mushrooms have been used for centuries in ancient medicine, and go way further than the button mushrooms  you get in the shops, or the occasional Toadstool’s you might come accross. In fact, there are currently over 10,000 discovered mushrooms and many mycologists believe that this number could be far higher. Modern science is now catching up and realising the magnificent benefits that these ancient remedies can bring to human health. Whilst the benefits of mushrooms are numerous, locating them can be pretty tricky. Which is why we wanted to make mushrooms available in supplements, free of any nasties, just 100% mushroom.

Fruiting Bodies vs Mycelium

The Mycelium has far less nutrients than the actual fruting body of the mushrooms, which is important to note. Moreover, the mycelium can indirectly contain fillers as many of these are grown on high starch products such as grains, oats and rice. Our fruiting bodies range is 100% mushroom and 0% filler, so you can be assured that our mushroom supplements have the full nutritional value of a wild mushroom itself.

What is the fruiting body?

The fruiting body of the mushroom is the mushroom itself, or the “fruit”. This is all the contents of the stem to the gills and everything inbetween. Our current range of mushroom supplements use the fruiting bodies.

What is Mycelium?

Mycelium is an underground network of thin strands that can span many miles.  The mycelial network feeds off organic plant matter and can often sprout mushrooms. They are very similar to the roots of plants.
