Lions Mane Supplement

Lion’s Mane Mushrooms (or Hericium Erinaceus) are white, coral-like fungi that are regularly eaten or taken in supplement form. Research suggests that they may offer a range of health benefits, including reduced inflammation and improved cognitive and heart health. Some researchers have even concluded that Lion’s Mane may have the potential to treat or prevent diseases that cause a decline in cognitive health, such as Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease. More human trials are required before bold assertions can be made, but early tests on mice have proved promising.

One Japanese Study focusing on adults aged between 50 and 80 years found that daily consumption of Lion’s Mane extract for a 16 week period led to higher cognitive function test scores when compared with a placebo group. These scores decreased again once the participants stopped taking the extract.
