Reishi Mushroom

Reishi Mushrooms (Ganoderma Lucidum) have been used as a medicinal mushroom for thousands of years, and can truly be considered a medicine of the ancients in this context. Opinions on their effectiveness are conflicting, however there are several test-tube studies that have shown that Reishi Mushroom could lead to the death of cancer cells. Although the Reishi Mushroom appears to hold promise for future cancer prevention or treatment, far more information is needed before it becomes part of standard therapy – and it’s not recommended as a replacement for traditional therapies.

Further higher quality human trials are required, but some vitro and animal studies also suggest that Reishi mushrooms may support the immune system. Whilst we cannot draw definitive conclusions, some test-tube studies have shown that Reishi Mushroom affects the genes in white blood cells, which are critical parts of your immune system.
